Despite improvements in those years, it is quite clear that discrimination still exists...Sounds ominous.
Cases such as the recently reports of qualified North African migrants who cannot get work are still too common.
... what is needed is a more modern act that emphasises real equality and changes the focus of the activities of the Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission from processing complaints to advocating for the act and tackling systemic discrimination.
The present act leaves it to the individual to make a complaint. It does not tackle systemic discrimination.
