Video: art imitates deadly life in new Australian film

SCENES from a new film depicting the cycle of knife and gun violence of some Lebanese-Australian teens were filmed in a restaurant where a man was murdered this week ...
Parramatta Sun
... Parramatta's Lebanese-born Lord Mayor Tony Issa, one of those who attended a preview of The Combination at the theatrette in State Parliament House on November25, says the film is an accurate portrayal of life in parts of western Sydney ...

The film's subject matter is raw, particularly where the racial tension between the Lebanese and Asian schoolboys and their ''Aussie'' counterparts rears its head ...

The essence of The Combination is encapsulated in Mr Basha's own words: "A world away, streets apart."
But I thought alcohol was to blame for all violence? I'm so confused ...

Dec 14, 2008

(Nothing to do with Sophie Ellis Bextor) ... Mohamad Omar of Punchbowl, was stabbed to death at the Beirut By Night restaurant at Homebush in Western Sydney. Guns were pulled. Probably a fight over a girl. Riot police called. Westmead Hospital emergency entrance blocked by dozens of mourners.

Below is the Yahoo 7 video. The presenter made sure that alcohol is the first thing that's blamed. Yep, always and everywhere, it's alcohol. Nothing to do with a militant culture.

And whilst Ambulance officers confirmed they were delayed by the crowd, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said there was no interference. Yep, the Middle Easterner/Muslim can never be criticised, nowhere and neverywhere.

Thanks to the squawking of these PC parrots, Middle Easterners/Muslims will never be criticised and are doomed to repeat the same errors, time and again.

2007: Hills district crime blamed on mortgage stress

4/12/2007

Whilst googling about the Richard Carruthers death (for which Marcel Halabi has been arrested) I noticed this piece of fantasy journalism from Hills News.
Sydney's Bible belt is known for its McMansions, aspirational voters and enthusiastic church-goers. But the conservative, affluent Hills district is also in the grip of a crime wave - and mortgage stress may be behind it ...

There have been five murders in the past two years; there were none in the five years before that. They include the stabbing murder of Richard Carruthers, the 36-year-old redesigner of the Olympic cauldron, in his Castle Hill home.

Three of the murders remain unsolved.
We know that certain ethnicities are over-represented in crime, and the article admits that the demographics of the area have changed. But does this fact get a mention by the genius journalist? Nope. It's aaaaall mortgage stress.

Was the murder of Richard Carruthers a group plot?

November 05, 2008
Daily Telegraph
THE man accused of murdering an acclaimed Sydney landscape designer in a vicious home invasion may not have acted alone, police said yesterday.

Marcel Halabi, 25, faced court yesterday charged with stabbing Richard Carruthers, 37, in the early hours of June 24 last year at his Castle Hill home...

Mrs Halabi, who said she was five months pregnant, declined to comment on her husband's arrest, threatening legal action when reporters approached.

BNP membership leaked: spot the fascists

November 20, 2008

In a piece titled Heat rises over UK's web map of fascists SMH tech journalist Asher Moses shows his colours ...
Right-wing extremists across Britain are bracing for violent repercussions after the British National Party's entire membership list was leaked on the internet.
Just pause and re-read that. Who are the ones threatening violent repercussions? Are they the ones Moses calls extremists or fascists? Does Moses condemn the violent repercussions? Nope, whilst full of judgement against BNP members, his rarefied morality does not condemn the left-liberal extremists who, unlike the BNP, are threatening violence. Silence speaks.
Ironically, the BNP is relying on Britain's Human Rights Act, which it opposes, to protect the privacy of its members.
Whatever the BNP stands for (I don't know much) it is a lawful democratic party. I suspect that even if it opposes the Human Rights Act it would be in favour of privacy laws. Ironically, Moses snickers at the privacy rights of members of a lawful party, as if they don't deserve them.

A law has been broken, but does that worry Moses? Nope, his morality does not extend to condemn the unlawful act - not with one word - but he does find the time to see the "humorous side" in it.

All he's concerned with is smearing the reputation of a lawful political party, and admiring the tech-savvy lawlessness that has British citizens fearing for their lives. What would you call someone who turns a blind eye to the law in pursuit of political gain? Silence speaks.

The Labour Party shows the same spirit...
Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, showed little sympathy over the leak. She told Sky News: "It probably says something about the BNP that people don't want to have it known that they are a member." ...

Smith's Labour party is seeking to pass a bill that would make it legal for trade unions to bar members of the BNP, and she has the chutzpah to insinuate that people don't want their BNP membership known because it is something shameful, conveniently "forgetting" the fact that the group is being legislated against, members are actively discriminated against in the workplace, as well as being subject to threats from leftist thugs.
Lawrence Auster...
That's shows the spirit of the true totalitarian. The true totalitarian doesn't just oppress you and take away your freedom, like a garden variety dictator. The true totalitarian says that your fear that he will oppress you and take away your freedom proves that you have a guilty conscience.
Lawrence Auster on the BNP ...
I pay attention to them because (1) they are virtually the only organized entity in Britain that seeks to defend Britain from national suicide, (2) they have done something that no anti-Semitic organization has ever done before, intelligently argue against anti-Semitism and officially reject it within the party, and (3) articles in BNP publications such as the one I recently discussed about Israel point toward a key component in the possible salvation of the West, namely the possibility of race-conscious white Westerners defending Jews and Israel, and of Jews realizing they are on the same side as white Westerners.

All these things make BNP noteworthy, interesting, and even promising. Is there anything in the Labor party or the Conservative party that make them noteworthy and interesting, other than their embrace of British national suicide?

... Every single article has expressed caveats and cautions. I have not given it a clean bill of health. I have not endorsed it. My discussions have been cautious and have always laid out the reasons why I thought this was worth discussing, therefore I don't think thoughtful VFR readers would be turned off by my mentioning it...

I like the whole thing. I'm still leery of the BNP as people, based on what I've heard about them, but how could I not wish a party well whose platform is right on so many points, in a different galaxy from the major parties? Even if the BNP candidates are unqualified for political office, wouldn't the success of a party with such a platform represent progress for those principles?
A BNP member comments ...
... The people on that list are political dissidents; which is a novel thought. I never thought when I was young that modern Britain could see such a thing...

No one seem in the slightest bit bothered about the fact that the police are openly perusing a list which is illegal and has a high-court injunction against it, so that they can sack the people on it, that people are now being sacked in "free" Britain for being members of a legal political party. There is not even the pretence that this isn't happening, it just doesn't matter. It seems that if you are BNP, anything goes--by being "racist" we put ourselves outside the protection of the law...

The Home Secretary mockingly commented that people in the BNP are obviously ashamed of their views to be reacting with such fear. Her comment, and the comment of others I have seen on news-sites, have revealed to us that which was partially concealed, that Britain today has become a nastier, and in a Stalinist way, a more threatening place than it felt yesterday. Such stories and the way they are spun and received give a glimpse to the attuned of the likely road ahead. The Home Secretary knows very well that the reason many members are scared to admit they are in the BNP is because of the very real possibility of harassment, persecution and loss of livelihood that she and her government inflicts on us through its intermediaries in the police and Marxist trade unions, amongst others.

And from the public's indifference, it would seem most people here couldn't care less. There are many groups that will protect the rights and liberties of non-Britons, but arguably even paedophiles have more groups willing to fight for their rights. We are quite alone. Not that I am complaining ... being "excluded" from such a society is like being accused of homophobia by the citizens of Sodom.
Even non-BNP members are outraged ...

Mormons speak about Auburn stabbing

October 24th, 2008

But you have to get it via the grapevine, not the Australian media. FAIR Blog in America has posted a Mormon account of the stabbing of Chris Collinsworth and David Ferguson at Auburn on October 14th, with some photos of revisiting the attack site:
In a letter distributed to the families of the missionaries of the Australia Sydney North mission President Scruggs recounts the events of Tuesday, October 14:
At about 8:45 PM, Elders Collinsworth (out about 6 months from Mapleton, UT; BYU basketball player, 6′9″, 220 lbs) and Elder Ferguson (out about 18 months from Great Falls, Montana; BYU major in Ancient Near Eastern Studies, 6′1″ — very slender), were walking on the sidewalk about 1/2 a block from their apartment. The area, Auburn, is our most urban. The missionaries refer to it as “all manner of ‘ese: Chinese, Sudanese, Lebanese, etc.” The Elders saw two Lebanese men, over six feet tall with mullets, walking towards them. As they approached, the Elders stepped off the sidewalk to let them pass. As soon as the men were in striking distance, they struck. Elder Collinsworth grabbed his attacker and threw him down into the street and held him to the ground. Elder Ferguson exchanged punches with his attacker with enough ferocity that the coward fled. By this time a third attacker jumped on Elder Collinsworth pulling his shirt over his head. He was knocked to the ground and kicked. He said the last thing he saw as he hit the street was Elder Ferguson running towards him. Elder Ferguson knocked the third attacker off of Elder Collinsworth. The second attacker who had run away earlier returned to join the attack.

At this time a passing Sudanese motorist stopped and honked his horn, flashed his lights and yelled. The three attackers ran away. The motorist got out and checked on the Elders — now both on the street — and then went to get a nearby policeman. At this point the Elders realized they had both been stabbed. Elder Collinsworth, once in the back; Elder Ferguson, thrice — in the thigh, the upper left arm, and the left wrist. Blood was especially pouring out of the wrist wound, so Elder Collinsworth took off his tie and bound the wound. An ambulance quickly arrived and transported them to Westmead which is a very good hospital.
...

Elder Ferguson (via his mother) gave me some details not found local news coverage:
I have 9 stitches in my hand, and about as many in my leg. My leg has an ugly L shaped cut. I think I passed out for a second when my head hit the ground and that is when one of the men stabbed me in the leg and jerked the knife. When I came to, I kicked the man in the shin, jumped up to my feet, and then tackled the other guy. I imagine I wouldn’t have done that if I knew I had been stabbed.

What the papers don’t tell you about the fight is that I was confronting the guy with the knife before he ran off. He had a scared look on his face and in reflection, it seems he was just about as surprised to be in the fight as we were. The third guy, we believe, was not connected to them and just wanted to join the fight.

… At one point for about 20 seconds [Elder Collinsworth] was being kicked really hard in the face repeatedly by two of them. He had no bruises on his face, no cuts, his teeth weren’t damaged and his nose wasn’t hurt. The only damage he received to his face was when he was punched before he was on the ground...
On Wednesday the story of the missionary attack was reported by Deseret News and other local media (for example KSL and the Daily Herald). The interest created by the sports angle ensured that media outlets throughout the nation picked the story up. As a former member of FAIR, Elder David Ferguson may very well be to our apologetic network and reader audience what Elder Chris Collinsworth is to the BYU basketball team and fans...

Several of us from FAIR contacted Margaret Ferguson to express condolences and let her know her son was in our prayers. I asked her how she found out about the attack and if there was any discussion of him coming home. She responded: “He called us from the hospital with his Mission President a few hours after the attack. He said, ‘I was in a bit of a scrap and I am in the hospital but I am O.K.’ Of course I started to cry and he told me to STOP crying. Now this sobered me up because I knew that he must not only be O.K. but back to his usual ‘not a big deal self.’ Then his Mission President got on the phone and described a little of what had happened. So we never felt like he needed to come home.” ...
