Videos: Ninemsn and ABC News.

It's hard to make out but it looks like someone of African appearance is involved. Yahoo 7 video says he is a heavyweight boxer and the woman is mentally ill.

Video: disturbing trend of racism in Dandenong

Video: the fatal flaw of immigration policy

December 02, 2008
Daily Telegraph

That ought to be the title of this news article. Instead, we get: The fatal flaw of DIY driving lessons. Video here and longer one here.
PEOPLE teaching friends or their children to drive may one day need a special permit if recommendations by a crash investigator are adopted.

Terrifying footage of a car driven by a learner driver crashing into pedestrians on a suburban street was yesterday played to an inquest into the death of young fashion student Emma Hansen.

The shocking CCTV images showed a red Toyota driven by Sudanese refugee Rose Deng ploughing into Ms Hansen's friend Portia Parkhill.
Did we have a general problem with learner drivers before this incident? Not to my knowledge. So shouldn't the correct response be to question either (a) African/refugee intake, or (b) African/refugee suitability to hold a drivers licence, or (c) special conditions for training African/refugee drivers? No, the answer is (d) none of the above - political correctness prevents any action targeting particular groups of people, regardless of any real data suggesting a particular problem. You might say our immigration and road safety policies (and this whole liberal trip) are driving blind.

Africans in Adelaide

14/11/2008
Independent Weekly
In pockets of Adelaide – around Kilburn, in the western suburbs, and parts of the CBD – it’s like Africa’s suddenly discovered us. Tall, slender women with beaded hair juggle babies on the buses, black teenagers giggle together in shopping centres, and African families are packing the pews at local churches. An African (Tanzanian) shop has opened near the Central Market ...

... the total [Sudanese] community is believed to number only around 2000, with another 3000 or so having come from elsewhere in Africa over the past decade – mainly South Africans but also refugees from Burundi to Zambia.

MP welcomes demographic surrender of Blacktown

25/11/2008
Blactown Sun
LOCAL MP Paul Gibson has commended the city's 3000 newest residents from Africa for embracing Blacktown as their home...

New migrants from Sudan Faustino Aboka (the chairman of the Equatoria Community Welfare Association), Mary Mamour and Abram Ayouk say they have generally been accepted by the local community.

But they did say that they had been treated with suspicion when they first arrived about six years ago...

Mr Aboka and Mr Ayouk agreed and said that the only problem they now faced was finding a job.
'Embracing' isn't the word. 'Colonising' is. Go see the photo, he hands over the "keys" to the city with a smile. Blacktown doesn't look like diversity in the picture, it looks like racial purity.

Video: Alan Jones on Daniel Awak killing

17/11/2008
Alan Jones
We are not a multicultural society and never will be.

We're a multiracial society.

We don't much care where people come from, but they need to be told we are monocultural.

Come to Australia and you live under the Australian umbrella.

And if those conditions are spelled out before people arrive, which of course they're not, then we have a reason to get rid of them when they don't behave.
Well, duh, if you get enough immigrants then you get defacto multiculturalism anyway. France doesn't have multiculturalism, officially anyway, yet they're still burning. Tell him he's dreamin.

Alan Jones' solution only makes the problem worse in the long run, because it promotes unlimited immigration. I do much care where people come from, because it does much effect quality of life.

Bolt v. Nixon: Sudanese crime 4 times average

November 21, 2008
Herald Sun
What Nixon fails to add is that with just 6200 Sudanese in Victoria, this means about one in 19 Sudanese each year gets picked up for alleged crimes - more than four times the one-in-83 rate for all Victorians.

Bottom line: Nixon last year claimed Sudanese were "underrepresented" in crime figures, but her own statistics show they are overrepresented by a factor of four.

Man robbed at gunpoint in peakhour, Sydney

11 Nov 2008
NSW Police
... a man was robbed when exiting the train at Wiley Park.

About 5pm yesterday (11th November 2008) three men of black/African appearance approached a man in the lane way near Wiley Park Railway Station.

Two of the men withdrew guns, demanding the man to hand over his belongings.
Wiley Park is in the middle of diverse south-west Sydney.

Police still pressing for Flemington riot charges

November 21, 2008
Herald Sun
Sen-Sgt Phil Pearson, a police union executive, is pushing for fresh charges over the violence in which his colleague and friend, Sen-Sgt Mario Benedetti, was injured.

"This is a perversion of the course of justice," he said.

"This happened because they were Africans and to maintain community harmony, but they have done the wrong thing.

"If they were white Australian males it would have proceeded to court."

Plea to mentor African refugees

November 24, 2008
The Age
PROMINENT Australians should mentor African refugees and provide references for jobs and housing to stop them becoming increasingly marginalised, says Victoria's Australian of the Year candidate, Berhan Ahmed ...

Under his mentorship plan, retired professionals would educate African refugees about local laws and social mores and provide character references for jobs and rental accommodation. "If these people don't have someone to connect them they will always remain on the fringe," he said ...

... "The crisis is not something of Africans' making, it's a system failing," he said.
There we go again: diversity is rejected by the people, they don't want a bar of it. And so the call goes out for some intervention. It's the same story with Aboriginals. Average Joe turns away and the government has to send in the army to fix it. Time after time, the public votes with it's feet. And still the governments don't listen. They keep bringing in the immigrants. And white folk keep turning away. The "system" cannot make up for it (unless it goes into fascistic overdrive). Tell him he's dreamin.

Killer cabbie back on the road

November 26, 2008
The Australian
The tribunal heard XFJ, an African refugee, repeatedly knifed his new wife in the head and stomach in a frenzied attack in 1990. Deeply depressed, he tried to hang himself - but failed when a tree branch broke.

A jury acquitted him of murder on the ground of insanity. He was detained in a psychiatric institution until his release under supervision about 10 years ago...
This video says he is from Ethiopia.

Herald Sun editorial
There was also concern that it would not be fair to ban the former psychiatric patient because of "wild prejudice".

Just as it would not be right to ban "a gay taxi driver" because some people might feel "uncomfortable with homosexuals". The same would apply to banning an "AIDS sufferer in remission and on medication" because some people might feel uncomfortable in a taxi being driven by such a person.

But do any of these bizarre comparisons override a concern about members of the public being driven by someone who killed his wife and was judged insane, in spite of reassurances about his recovery?

African refugee jailed for child sex offences

June 13, 2007

34-year-old African refugee Djuma Omana of Morphett Vale (Adelaide), from Congo, was found guilty of raping one teenage girl, and assaulting another. The girls were known to Omana through their parents. He invited them over, gave then alcohol and cannabis, and had them sleep over because it was getting late. The assaults happened during the night.

Nixon fudged African crime figures

November 19, 2008
Andrew Bolt
But here’s the central point. Last year Nixon told us Sudanese refugees, if not all African refugees, were “under-represented in the crime statistics”. In fact, we now know they’re over-represented—by as much as eight times.

Andrews was right to worry and urge caution. Nixon was wrong to challenge his figures. And we, who relied on Nixon’s assurances, were grossly unfair to damn Andrews as a racist and a hatemonger for merely doing his duty. I’m sorry for my part in that.
Read it all. It's good, but unfortunately Bolt does not oppose African immigration per se, he only proposes a slowing down until we settle the African crime rate. But, as an experimentalist, he should have looked overseas and seen the high crime rates in the US, UK, France, etc, and opposed black immigration here until those overseas countries showed us that multiracial utopia is possible - and they haven't done that yet. So, as an immigration scientist, Andrew Bolt demonstrates a stubborn reckless streak by happily repeating those failed experiments here.

But, regardless of crime rates, there are other dimensions to oppose African immigration: aesthetics, the loss of social capital, the reluctance of employers to hire foreigners, informal segregation in suburbs and schools and universities, Islamification, national security, terrorism, etc. Does anybody bother to quantify those dimensions with statistics?

Note, Bolt has previously taken a somewhat stronger stance against African immigration:
We can ignore all this, as we usually, do and shout “racist” at those who point out that we have a problem.

But we need to rethink just how - or even whether - we resettle immigrants whose culture is so very, very different.
Today would have been a good time to echo that last line, don't you think?

'Migrants from Africa will... settle... as previous waves'

March 09, 2008
Herald Sun
Federal Immigration and Citizenship minister Senator Chris Evans said specific immigrant groups would not face caps or discrimination.

"All immigrants face challenges when settling in a new country, especially refugees because of the trauma they have been through," he said.

"Migrants from Africa will successfully settle in Australia just as previous waves of immigrants from different backgrounds have done."
That statement may come back to haunt him. How can he say this given the crime rates of Africans in Europe and the USA? Buggered if I know. Because he doesn't believe in facts, he believes in hope. Tell him he's dreamin.

Fears our crime being imported

March 09, 2008
Herald Sun
... those born in Somalia, Lebanon and New Zealand had the highest crime-per-population rates in Victoria... followed by Turkish, Vietnamese and then Australian-born criminals...

The Crimes Victims Support Association has called for migrant groups committing less crime to be favoured over "high crime" nationalities.

Spokesman Noel McNamara said migrants should be deported on their first offence and there should be a cooling-off period for citizenship.

"We should be much stricter on who we bring in," Mr McNamara said.
"A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument".

Sudanese crime rate double the general SA rate

November 14, 2008
Adelaide Now
Deputy Police Commissioner Gary Burns yesterday said police were concerned by rising levels of violence in the Sudanese community. In the past 16 months, Sudanese people had been involved in 450 offences, resulting in 258 arrests. "This is double the level of offending for the population of the state," he said.

"They come from a culture which has had serious warfare, some have been child soldiers, and they don't have the conflict-resolution skills that others who have grown up in Australia have, and as a result we have seen an increase in crime."
Andrew Bolt
What? One on 16 Sudanese immigrants in Adelaide - man, woman and child - commit, on average, an offence every three months?

Was it smart to import so many people who clearly have trouble fitting in? Was it fair on those who are the victims of their crimes?
No, and there should be a senate enquiry to table all the victims of immigration, and to justify how diverse immigration can continue given the high crime rates of certain ethnicities.

Community leaders to meet over stabbing death

Nov 13, 2008

The ABC has some video and audio of the "let's do more, even though there isn't a problem with Sudanese" panic following the death of Daniel Awak:
The Social Inclusion Commissioner says the Federal Government needs to do more to help migrants as they settle in Australia.
What's illustrative is that it's government, police, and schools that are called upon to do more to help the Sudanese. And that speaks volumes about the general public willingness to accept diversity. Just like it's left up to government to solve the Aboriginal problems because the man on the street turns away from diversity.

And the West Australian reports that a 14-year-old has been charged with murder, and indicates we do have a problem with escalating knife crime:
With knife attacks on the rise, the commissioner also said he wanted to see metal detectors more widely used to help police crack down on knife carriers...

Mr Hyde also said laws should be amended to stop the scourge of knife crimes from spreading...
