Reckless HIV lover walks free

August 11th, 2008
A HIV-positive Geelong man walked free from court this morning after being convicted for twice having sex with a woman while knowing he had the deadly virus.

Sudanese-born Lam Kuoth, 28, formerly of Norlane, was sentenced to two years jail but the sentence was wholly suspended for three years...

Judge Lacava said he initially thought a prosecution submission that Kuoth should not be jailed was too lenient.

But after reading reports from Department of Human Services staff dealing with Kuoth he agreed continued treatment was the best option for him...
Spread the word, first offence is a freebie. Especially if you're an immigrant who didn't know any better. Yep, every immigrant gets one free victim upon which to learn about Australian law. Well, come on, you can't expect them to learn it from a book or DVD or seminar - that's discrimination - you've got to have a diversity of education methods.
