Neighbours rejects claims it is 'too white'

Neighbours is among several programs identified by Britain's anti-racism watchdog as "hideously white"...

Dr Szoke, head of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, said shows such as Neighbours and Home and Away should rise to the challenge and create more diverse characters...

Dr Szoke said most programs on mainstream TV were too white.

"There aren't many that have got a bit of light and movement in them other than white Anglo-Saxon," she said.

There goes the neighbourhood. All claims to enrichment through diversity are based on the offensive presumption that there is something wrong or deficient with being homogeneous. I am offended.
