Cedar Boys film: Sydney's other face revealed

16 July, 2008
ACTOR Les Chantery just wrapped up filming opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino but was just as compelled to take the lead role in low budget film Cedar Boys.

A cluster of dilapidated vacant shops at Crown St, Fairfield East provided the backdrop for Friday's shoot of the movie, which centres on the troubles of young Lebanese-Australian men...

"I believe Sydney has a huge, huge, huge racial intolerance.

"It's underground and this script was pre-Cronulla riots." ...

" I think I just wanted to tell a true portrayal of Lebanese boys in Sydney why they choose crime, who their role models are, how they perceive the world," he said.
