About 7:25pm a man armed with a metal object entered the take-away store on William Street and threatened staff.
Cash was stolen from cash registers before the man fled the store on foot. He was last seen running west on William Street.
Police want to speak with a man described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, aged 25 to 30, solid build, olive complexion, about 182cm tall with a shaved head. At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey sports hooded top and dark jeans.
