The Central Florida chapter of the United American Committee, a nonprofit group that seeks to educate Americans on the threat of Islamic extremism, is raising money to purchase a six-month contract to display the billboard, which the group hopes will awaken the public to discussing the full extent of Islamic law...
... Sharia law recognizes no separation of church and state...
"Under Sharia law if you are accused of stealing, a hand and foot from opposite sides are amputated. If you are caught having an affair, the woman is stoned to death and the man is given 80 lashes. If you change religions, you can be charged under apostasy laws and given the death sentence by a legal Sharia court. If you want to marry a nine-year-old child, Sharia law condones pedophilia, because Mohammad married Aisha at six and consummated the marriage at age nine. I find these and many more practices of Sharia law despicable and hateful," said Kornman.

Muslims Against Sharia support "Sharia law is hate" billboard. Do not fall for upcoming media claims that the statement "Sharia law is hate" offends Muslims; it only offends radical Muslims who want to replace the Constitution with the Koran.

Nice sentiment, but reforming Islam is mission impossible:

It's never going to happen. And who would trust a 'reformed' religion, which had any connection with the warlord Muhammad and 1400 years of Muhammad-inspired offensive jihad, from reverting to it's true origins?
Just because you read an article about Islam, it hardly makes you an Islamic scholar. You might want to provide your scholarly opinions on something you do understand.
More than three paragraphs of the Koran gives me nausea, so here is my argument by proxy:

"One of the chief merits of Spencer's biography of Muhammad is that he relies entirely on the earliest extant Arabic sources, and if the picture that emerges of the Prophet of Islam is far from flattering, Muslims, at least, cannot complain that it is a portrait painted by the enemy or infidels. Unfortunately, much of the subsequent bloody history of Islam can be said to derive from the example set by its founder: his intolerance of non-Muslims, his anti-Jewish sentiments, his attitude to women, all are attested to in the Islamic sources. Thanks to Spencer's biography, we can no longer pretend that Islamic fundamentalism is an aberrant form of Islam. The seeds of violence and intolerance are already there in Seventh Century Arabia, and in the life of Muhammad." -- Ibn Warraq

Andrew Bostom: "Alleged to have aided the forces of Muhammad’s enemies in violation of a prior pact, the Qurayzah were subsequently isolated and besieged. Twice the Qurayzah made offers to surrender, and depart from their stronghold, leaving behind their land and property. Initially they requested to take one camel load of possessions per person, but when Muhammad refused this request, the Qurayzah asked to be allowed to depart without any property, taking with them only their families. However, Muhammad insisted that the Qurayzah surrender unconditionally and subject themselves to his judgment. Compelled to surrender, the Qurayzah were lead to Medina. The men with their hands pinioned behind their backs, were put in a court, while the women and children were said to have been put into a separate court. A third (and final) appeal for leniency for the Qurayzah was made to Muhammad by their tribal allies the Aus. Muhammad again declined, and instead he appointed as arbiter Sa’ad Mu’adh from the Aus, who soon rendered his concise verdict: the men were to be put to death, the women and children sold into slavery, the spoils to be divided among the Muslims."

Robert Spencer: "But then Muhammad and his Muslim armies arose out of the desert, and — as most modern textbooks would put it — these lands became Muslim. But in fact the transition was cataclysmic. Muslims won these lands by conquest and, in obedience to the words of the Qur’an and the Prophet, put to the sword the infidels therein who refused to submit to the new Islamic regime. Those who remained alive lived in humiliating second-class status. Conversion to Islam became the only way to live a decent life. And lo and behold, the Christian populations of these areas steadily diminished."

Serge Trifkovic: "On the whole, Muhammad's practice and constant encouragement of bloodshed are unique in the history of religions. Allah's order to "kill the unbelievers wherever you find them" is an injunction both unambiguous and powerful. The word "genocide" was not even coined when Muhammad conveyed Allah's alleged dictum, "When we decide to destroy a population. then we destroy them utterly." (17:16-17) Disobedient people "we utterly destroyed." (21:11) That Islam sees the world as an open-ended conflict between the Land of Peace (Dar al-Islam) and the Land of War (Dar al-Harb), which must be conquered by jihad, is the most important bequest of Muhammad to history. The end of Jihad is possible only when "there prevail justice and faith in Allah" everywhere. (2:193) Muhammad thus postulated the fundamental illegitimacy of the existence of a non-Muslim world. Muslims could contemplate tactical ceasefires, but never jihad's complete abandonment short of the unbelievers' abject submission."

Dr Paul Stenhouse:
Muhammad: 'Lord of the Scimiter'
Muhammad moved to Yathreb aged 53, and a new, tougher and merciless personality almost immediately emerged from his prophetic chrysalis. The relatively placid person who spent 13 years trying to win over his relatives and neighbours to his new religion turned into the unforgiving Warrior determined to subdue his tribe by force and humble those who had mocked him. The prophet's behaviour, allegedly endorsed by God, gave the lie to the Islamic mantra: 'God, the forgiving and all-merciful'...
The Meccan Suras contain no reference to a Holy War. On the other hand the Medina Suras are so full of verses on this subject that this obligation appears to be more heavily stressed than any other ...
The last 10 years of Muhammad's life in Medina saw Islam gradually transformed from a vague social experiment with a religious face into a militant and intimidatory force whose progress depended on booty from raids and revenue from the tax. At Muhammad's command prisoners were killed and political assassinations took place ...
Muhammad personally took part in 27 raids between his arrival in Medina and his death ...
Muhammad's last words before his death were, 'Let not two religions be left in the Arabian Peninsular' ...

The texts in Islam distinguish themselves from the texts of other religions by encouraging violence and aggression against people with other religious beliefs to a larger degree. There are also straightforward calls for terror. This has long been a taboo in the research into Islam, but it is a fact that we need to deal with.

Raymond Ibrahim:
When you look at these documents ... they make up 200 pages of the book ... 50 pages of those 200 are the actual writings of Osama Bin Laden ... the other 150 are just pure quotations from the Koran, not pulled out of context, quotations from the Hadith and quotations from the most revered Islamic scholars throughout the ages. And that's why I think that makes this book doubly important, because it's not just Al Qaeda's world view, it's really a world view that's very well grounded in Islam ... so when people tell you Al Qaeda's hijacking Islam ... not really because if you read it here they go to great pains to actually justify their actions through the medium of Islamic jurisprudence ... so everything they say here is legitimate.
... A radical Muslim is someone who is taking his religion seriously, he's a real Muslim. A moderate Muslim, well they're mediocre Muslims ...

As far as I can tell, all the above experts are quoting from Islamic sources. And they all paint the same picture.
It is a valid argument, but you should consider the state of Christianity a few centuries ago. Remember the Inquisition? If Christianity managed to outgrow its violent period, so can Islam. It is also true that the Koran contains repulsive items (that's why we are trying to remove them), but so is the Bible.
