The police were called to a community hall on Melanie Street, Hassall Grove, about 11.15pm (AEST) yesterday following reports of a disturbance involving at least 100 people, mostly teenagers, at the party.
A number of people were brawling when the officers arrived and when they tried to restore order they were surrounded and threatened...
Police say their officers were pushed, punched and kicked and had to use capsicum spray as they arrested an 18-year-old man and six youths aged between 14 and 17.
