His latest project, the 30-minute film Lakemba, has not improved his opinion of current affairs television. Filming in Lakemba, he and the cameraman were threatened by locals who thought they were a television crew come to spy on them.Of course, threats are an acceptable response.
"It's completely understandable when you think what shows like Today Tonight have done to the suburb," he says. "If there's a story about terrorists in Afghanistan, they'll go and film a chicken shop in Lakemba. Of course the residents are going to get angry."
