Eddie McGuire on giving migrants a fair go

Eddie McGuire, August 03, 2008
Could there be anything worse in life than being condemned to imprisonment as an innocent person? Or to watch your children grow up behind razor wire?

There is probably one scenario that is almost as bad: to be released into a society that is not set up to facilitate your assimilation, to recognise your talents, to help with your cultural issues and, most of all, that is deeply anxious about your presence.

Almost every wave of migration to this country has been met with bigotry and fear.

But now that we are making it slightly easier to let people in, can we make them feel more welcome?
Eddie McGuire, another post Kevin Andrews propaganda recruit. It's the big "immigrant sell" campaign. Nobody's buying ...
