Asian gangs in Sydney embrace diversity?

November 03, 2008
ASIAN crime gangs responsible for murder, scalping and kidnapping have launched a recruitment drive among ordinary Western Sydney teenagers.

Leaders of the Yee Tong and Sing Wah gangs have slipped into the country from China using student visas and are expanding their criminal base to include disaffected Islander and white teens.

Until recently these gangs exclusively targeted the Asian community for its membership.
What an odd coincidence to find, just days after the racial tension over Richard Saunders' death in Brisbane and, in Melbourne, Bob Falconer's call for recognition of the 'indisputable' racial nature of gangs, that this Sydney article finds our gangs embracing diversity. Ain't no racial gangs here in Sydney folks, nothing to see, move along. No, really ...
