The town of bourke is half aboriginal as i understand.

Half of youth crime in australia is aboriginal so in burke it is probably like 90% of youth crime.

'Bourke police have arrested four boys believed to be involved in a rock throwing attack which seriously injured a woman.

The 48-year-old was hit in the head while driving along Mooculta Street on Saturday night.

She has been transferred to the Sydney Eye Hospital and could lose an eye.

A 16-year-old accused of throwing the rock has now been charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail in the Bourke Children's Court yesterday, and is due to front court again tomorrow.

Under New South Wales' tough new rock throwing laws, he could face up to 14 years in jail.

Three other boys aged 11, 12 and 15 have also been arrested and will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Police are appealing for anyone else whose car was hit in Mooculta or Cullie streets between 8:00pm and midnight AEDT on Saturday to come forward.'
