LOCAL MP Paul Gibson has commended the city's 3000 newest residents from Africa for embracing Blacktown as their home...'Embracing' isn't the word. 'Colonising' is. Go see the photo, he hands over the "keys" to the city with a smile. Blacktown doesn't look like diversity in the picture, it looks like racial purity.
New migrants from Sudan Faustino Aboka (the chairman of the Equatoria Community Welfare Association), Mary Mamour and Abram Ayouk say they have generally been accepted by the local community.
But they did say that they had been treated with suspicion when they first arrived about six years ago...
Mr Aboka and Mr Ayouk agreed and said that the only problem they now faced was finding a job.
