Police are being called upon to drop their ethnic descriptions of alleged criminals when searching for individuals in New South Wales.Anything else you want us to stop talking about Mr Seyit? Oh yeah, he wants us to rename Christmas to Winterval.
It is standard practice for police to use the words "of Middle Eastern appearance" when describing an alleged criminal of specific ethnicity.
However the Forum of Islamic Relations wants the term dropped because of it's potential racist bent.
"Middele Eastern can cover so many different nationalities, I mean Greek people or Pacific Islanders," Kuranda Seyit said.
